This is an excellent book, a British imprint of 10,000 Leagues Over the Sea. I purchased everything I could of W.A.Robinson because his books are no longer in print, not available as ebooks, and probably will not be available in the near future. My copy of 10000 Leagues is a USA imprint on "war paper" with a preface in line with its 1944 printing. The copy of Deep Water and Shoal is on better stock. Both books have almost identical content. Following the world voyage with an electronic chart of the world adds to the story. Robinson's "Deep Water and Shoal" is a classic. I do not wish to deter anyone from reading it. This edition appears to be a facsimile reproduction of the original 1932 edition. Unfortunately, it omits all of the photographs from the original. Only a wretched and illegible little map near the beginning and a line drawing of Svaap's sail plan at the end remain. Very disappointing, especially if you are a collector. There is not much you can do, though. Original editions are very expensive (not that $32 for this paperback facsimile edition is cheap). I just wish that Pomona Press, in return for making money off the work of a dead man, would respect that man's work and include it whole. I wonder if the hardbound edition from Pomona (isbn 978-1443734837) includes the photographs.
